| This Border encuentro will include artists from San Diego, Ensenada, Tijuana, Veracruz, and Los Angeles all getting together to have a Fandango at the fence. Fandango is a traditional event where singing, dancing and playing take place whose origins date at least to the second half of the seventeenth century. It is played with jaranas or guitarras de canción (string instruments which are Mexican versions of Spanish baroque guitars and vihuelas)and guitarras de son or requinto jarocho. |
